The work of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine radiology professors Dr. Elliot Fishman and Dr. Karen M. Horton is recognized around the world by radiologists and technologists. Their site, CTISUS.com, answers a growing need for high-definition images as decision support tools.

The images in the Cancer Radiology Collection include high resolution CT and MRI images with audio commentary, posted weekly. Diagnostic-based cases cover 5 to 6 images per case and a quiz to let you test your knowledge.

Elliot K. Fishman, M.D. and Karen M. Horton, M.D.
Dr. Elliot Fishman's clinical and research interests focus on medical imaging with specific emphasis on 3-Dimensional Imaging and Computed Tomography. His work in CT has resulted in more than 1,000 peer-reviewed publications. Recognized for his excellence in education and teaching by radiologists throughout the world, Dr. Fishman received Aunt Minnie Awards as Outstanding Educator in 2002 and 2007, and as Outstanding Researcher in 2004, making him the first person to receive both awards. Additionally, Medical Imaging named Dr. Fishman Top Radiologist in the nation in April 2007.
Dr. Fishman is currently Professor of Radiology and Oncology, and Director of Diagnostic Imaging and Body CT at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Dr. Karen Horton earned her medical degree and completed her clinical training in radiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is currently Professor of Radiology, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and Director of the Cross Sectional Imaging Fellowship, Department of Radiology, Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Horton has co-authored numerous articles on computed tomography, especially the use of CT scan in imaging the pancreas and detecting pancreatic tumors.
Dr. Fishman and Dr. Horton maintain CTISUS.com as part of their ongoing efforts to advance patient care using medical imaging with a focus on spiral CT and 3D imaging. Together, they lead a team at CTISUS that includes several radiologists, a computer scientist, a multimedia developer, and a medical illustrator.
